Union City homicide suspect arrested in Friday’s fatal shooting of woman

Police have arrested two people in connection with Friday’s early-morning shooting in Union City that left one woman dead.

The Union City Police Department arrested Francisco Alvarez, 29, of Union City, on suspicion of murder Friday evening. They also arrested John Collins, 60, of Union City, for accessory after the fact. A gun allegedly used in the incident was also recovered.

Just after midnight Friday, police were called to the 2500 block of Medallion Drive for a shooting. They found a woman suffering from a single gunshot wound. Despite efforts from paramedics, she died at the scene. She’s been identified as Joan Dolly Delsied, 28, of Union City.
