Three people, including an officer with the Arcadia Police Department, were injured following a shooting Wednesday evening.

The shooting happened around 5:45 p.m. on the 2500 block of Greenfield Avenue in Arcadia.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department assisted Arcadia police with the shooting investigation.

Sheriff’s Department officials confirmed that the unidentified officer was shot and two civilians were injured, although it’s unclear if the civilians were shot as well.

The conditions of those three people are unclear at this time, but the officer was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police sent out a community notification alerting residents that shots had been fired in the area and people were asked to stay inside their homes unless otherwise ordered by police.

Video from Sky5 showed a large police presence and armored vehicles at the scene.

The shooting comes just two days after an off-duty Monterey Park police officer was killed in a shooting in Downey.
