Former Girls frontman Christopher Owens has returned with his first new song in seven years. “I Think About Heaven” is a solo track about self-reliance and longing, with a nod to Psalms 42 woven into the lyrics as well. It follows 2017’s Vante EP, which served as the debut release from his project Curls. Listen to “I Think About Heaven” below.

Prior to the briefly lived Curls run, Owens released a handful of solo records following the 2012 dissolution of Girls, the most recent of which was his 2015 album Chrissybaby Forever. It was his third post-Girls solo collection, after 2013’s Lysandre and 2014’s A New Testament.

As far as Curls go, things are pretty quiet on that front. The trio formed at the very end of 2016 and haven’t released anything else since their debut EP, but they did continue to play shows together on through 2019.

Revisit Christopher Owens’s 5-10-15-20 interview in which he discusses the music that shaped his life.
