London TV Screenings To Expand Once Again As MIP Comes To Town

The London TV Screenings is expanding again.

As MIP gets set to move to the English capital for the first time, the annual showcase will now take place across five days instead of four and feature more than 30 distributors, it revealed this morning.

The London TV Screenings will run from February 23 to February 28, kicking off with a Studiocanal event on Sunday evening at the Ham Yard Hotel. The week will close on Friday afternoon with events held by the four founding distributors, All3Media International, Banijay Entertainment, Fremantle and ITV Studios throughout. All events will span locations across Leicester Square, Soho and Covent Garden.

Overall, there will be more than 30 companies hosting screenings at the event, which has become a must-attend in the TV calendar over the past few years, with the BBC Studios showcase relocating from Liverpool to London after Covid.

The move comes with MIP TV leaving Cannes and moving to London, news revealed by Deadline earlier this year.

MIP London will take place concurrent with the London Screenings from February 24-27, featuring smaller buyers and sales houses who will be able to rent out areas, suites and join networking hubs in London’s Savoy Hotel. Owner RX France has previously said that MIP London will be “complementary” not a competitor of the London TV Screenings.

“The London TV Screenings has firmly cemented itself as the leading distribution event in the UK, with last year’s edition seeing a surge in attendance across the capital,” said a spokesperson for the screenings. “To ensure nothing is missed, and to accommodate an ever-expanding schedule, we’re delighted to begin the 2025 Screenings a day earlier, meaning we continue to deliver a high-quality, unmissable and free-to-attend event to the international content community.”

According to the screenings, there was a 50% uplift in buyer attendance last year to more than 750. More details will be revealed in the coming weeks.
