Netflix Boards Tencent Video’s Drama Series ‘See Her Again’; Watch Trailer Here

Netflix has boarded buzzy Asian drama series See Her Again on day one of the Shanghai TV Festival. The global has acquired international rights, an unusual move given it has rarely pre-bought shows out of China shows in the past.

You can watch a trailer for the series, which comes from Chinese streamer Tencent Video and Drama Apple. It follows a Hong Kong police detective from the 1990s who unexpectedly travels to 2018 and partners with a female police officer to uncover a series of mysterious murder cases from the past.

William Chan (Swords of Legends) plays the lead opposite Hong Kong Film Award best actress winner Cya Liu (Limbo). Also confirmed in the cast today are Tse Kwan Ho (A Guilty Conscience), Niki Chow (Enter the Fat Dragon), Stephen Fung (House of Fury) in a special appearance, Ling Man Lung (Tomorrow Is Another Day), Ben Yuen Fu Wah (Suk Suk), and German Cheung Man Kit (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In).

The Hong Kong-based production team includes director KK Wong (The Trading Floor), scriptwriter Tong Yiu-leung (Raging Fire), script consultants Chu Kang Ki and Lau Siu Kwan (Operation Mekong), director of photography Ng Man Ching (Infernal Affairs), art director Andrew Wong (Where the Wind Blows), costume designer Ollie Leung (Big Brother) and Johnny Tang Shui-Wa (The Goldfinger).

See Her Again was the only Asian show selected to compete for the Coup de Coeur Award at MIPTV’s MIPDrama Screenings in April.

The news was unveiled today at a Tencent Video press conference at the Shanghai TV Festival, which began today in China.
