Sufjan Stevens has shared another new song from Javelin, the third and final preview of the LP before its release this Friday (October 6). The latest is titled “A Running Start.” Check it out below.

Javelin is Stevens’ return to solo songwriting, and several friends join him on the record, including the National’s Bryce Dessner on the track “Shit Talk.” He announced the record in August with “So You Are Tired,” following it with “Will Anybody Ever Love Me?” The album comes with a 48-page book of collages by Stevens (who also designed the record’s cover art) and related essays.

Stevens recently revealed that he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune condition that attacks the nervous system. “It’s a slow process, but they say I will ‘recover,’ it just takes a lot of time, patience, and hard work,” he wrote in an update on Tumblr. He also wrote that his condition had prevented him from taking part in any promotional press for Javelin, and has not yet indicated any plans to tour in support of the record.
