Yves Tumor: Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) [Warp]

Yves Tumor chose a lengthy, enigmatic title for their third LP for Warp: Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds). The album follows through even further on the artist’s shift from noisy electronic work to songs with a pronounced rock influence. Yves Tumor shared several tracks from the record ahead of its release, including “Echolalia,” “Heaven Surrounds Us Like a Hood,” “Parody,” and “God Is a Circle.” Listen to “The Subversive Power of Fever Ray and Yves Tumor” on the Pitchfork Review podcast.

100 gecs: 10,000 gecs [Dog Show/Atlantic]

Nearly four years after their debut, 1000 gecs, Laura Les and Dylan Brady are back with their second studio album as 100 gecs. The new album, 10,000 gecs, includes the highlights “Doritos & Fritos, “MeMeMe,” and “Hollywood Baby.” “10,000 gecs sounds like being hit in the face with pies for approximately 26 minutes, two best friends having the greatest time throwing all the dankest shit from their musical file cabinet at you while you accept your ridiculous fate,” writes Pitchfork’s Julianne Escobedo Shepherd in her Best New Music review of the record.

Kosogor, the duo’s debut, was recorded in a mobile studio across villages in Russia. “In one place, there was nothing but a forest, a cemetery and a ruined church,” Livanskiy said in a statement. “The wooden house we lived in was 120 years old, and this spirit is imprinted in some songs.”

Deathcrash: Less [Fire Talk]

Just over a year after releasing their album Return, the London band Deathcrash are back with Less. The album was recorded at an extremely remote UK studio in the Outer Hebrides. (Google it—that looks pretty remote.) It features the songs “And Now I Am Lit,” “Empty Heavy,” and “Duffy’s.”
