NAACP Image Awards Photos: The Best Of The Red Carpet

The NAACP Image Awards honor the achievements and performances of people of color across more than 80 competitive categories. A week-long celebration will culminate with a gala at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California that will be televised. Early winners of the awards included Rihanna and Beyoncé in the musical categories. Quinta Bronson was honored with the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series award for her work on Abbott Elementary with her co-stars Tyler James Williams and Janelle James also taking trophies. Other actors from television that won this year include Cedric the Entertainer for The Neighborhood, Cliff “Method Man” Smith for Power Book II: Ghost and Loretta Devine for P-Valley. Neicy Nash-Betts was awarded for her work on Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Sherri Shepherd won for Outstanding Talk Series.

On the film side, Angela Bassett continued doing “the thing” and took the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, while the movie’s villain played by Tenoch Huerta picked one up as well. Bantú Mama received the Outstanding International award while Jalyn Hall from Till received the trophy for Outstanding Breakthrough Performance.
